Beautiful as that surface can be, it often hides what lies within. When we first began slicing into boulders to make benches, the results were a revelation. The cut stone revealed colors, patterns, and movement that had been invisible from the outside. It opened a window into the stone\u2019s geologic history, formed during a more dynamic, fluid state and then frozen in time millions of years ago.<\/p><p class=\"x_p1\" dir=\"ltr\">In the gallery below, some photos focus on the polished surfaces of benches, stools, tables, and fire pits, highlighting the beauty hidden within the stone.
